For example, create the ISO using Rufus (This method doesn't work with DD, as it copies read-only ISO9660 file system). In general, to boot 64 bit OS, which is what you want (trust me, you don't want 32 bit OS nowdays), then simply download the "grubia32.efi" from the web, and place it in the EFI directory of the ISO. Second, if you would like to use Ubuntu, use tool called isorespin.sh (or what ot is called, I had never used it, modifying ISOs myself) from Linuxium. Recent kernels are supposed to have better support for Baytrail/Cherrytrail (TabletPCs' CPUs) I highly recommend to use latest kernel possible for your favourite distro, like Ubuntu 18.04, which I suppose has fairly recent kernel. That means you can run 64b system with little tinkering. The first problem is your assumption of CPU bittness. No Baytrail crashes, battery management + wifi + suspend OOTB, sound required little to no configuration, Touchscreen required little bit tinkering (firmware blob). So, I was really, REALLY surprised how well it was supported with kernel 4.17.8. One day, I realised the RTL8723BS got merged into mainline kernel, so I thought I can give a rolling distro a try. I couldn't help it at first, so it kept crying for disk space, RAM and less disk writes. That poor little thingy had Windows on it from the store. I have one of that cheap Windows tablets, too.
